Saguarohenge: Celebrating the Nurturing Relationship Between Plants and People

I tell everyone about Saguarohenge. It's unique, quirky, saguaro-filled, and a truly memorable stop for locals and visitors alike. Saguarohenge is up on the Northwest Side of Tucson at Pima Prickly Park, which is maintained by the Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society. This monument is a simple ring of 8 Saguaro cacti standing tall. It was originally designed by landscape architect Robie Pardee as a tribute to his mother. An engraved stone at foot of the cacti reads "Saguarohenge, celebrating the nurturing relationship between plants and people."

A gravel walking trail takes you through the park and up to the henge, and it's a beautiful spot to take a deep breath and appreciate the Sonoran desert and everything that thrives here. It’s not a long stop, but it’s definitely a quirky, only-in-Tucson place worth seeing.
